Photographic Services - General Information
The Buffalo Bill Historical Center offers photographic
services and historical images for a wide variety of academic, personal,
and commercial uses. These applications serve a diverse range of media.
Images of our historical photographs and collection objects are available for publication, television and movie production, products, research, and personal use. Historical footage (film and video) from
our collection is also available for television and movie production.
Images are provided in a format convenient
to your specific use. Our photography studio is also available to
create custom images.
All photographic work is limited to the collections
of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Turn-around of photography
may take up to 4-6 weeks - please allow adequate time for your requests.
Orders involving more than 24 hours (3 days) of work time (for research,
preparation, photography, processing and delivery) are subject to
the approval of the Deputy Director.
Reproduction fees are structured as image use fees.
The fee is based on the use of the image, and not the format
in which the image is provided. Black and white images are provided
as 8 x 10" black and white print or a digital
file. Color images are provided as 4 x 5" color transparency or a digital file. Please see the appropriate
section of the pricing schedule for the applicable fee.
The image use fees listed are based on existing photography.
If an object has not been photographed by BBHC photo staff, an additional
fee is added to the normal use fee.
