Director of Public Relations Lee Haines came to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center from Brookfield Zoo near Chicago, where he was Acting Director of Marketing and Public Relations. His connection to Wyoming dates to the late 1970s and early 1980s when he worked for a guest ranch and hunting camp in the Teton area and for a hotel in the Yellowstone area.

Haines is a 1984 graduate of the University of Wyoming, where he earned an MA in Journalism. A varied career in the communications/public relations/marketing discipline ensued, as he worked at the Dubois Frontier, in the aerospace industry around the country, in the natural gas industry near Chicago, and the attractions industry.

Haines's major responsibilities include media relations, marketing, advertising, and coordination with Cody, Park County the State of Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park. He is also a member of the BBHC teams focusing on visitor experience, market research, and visitor satisfaction research.
