Kurt Graham joined the staff of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center as the Housel Director of the McCracken Research Library in 2006. Dr. Graham received his Ph.D. in American history from Brown University in 2002 where his fields of study included early America, the American West, environmental history, and early modern England. Prior to his appointment at the McCracken Research Library, Dr. Graham was on the history faculty at California State University, San Bernardino, where he taught courses on colonial America, the American Revolution, the early American Republic, U.S. constitutional history, and environmental history. His dissertation focused on the role and function of the lower federal courts in the early United States. Dr. Graham was named Co-Director of the Cody Institute for Western American Studies in 2008.
