Buffalo Bill Museum Adventure, 2012

Students at our recent Buffalo Bill Museum Adventure learn about depictions of Buffalo Bill in film—and have some fun making their own movie posters.

Museum Adventures

There's always an adventure awaiting you and your students at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center! From "spying art" for younger children to a birthday celebration for William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody to an appreciation for the natural history of the area for Earth Day, Museum Adventures offer fun and educational explorations for students from kindergarten through the fifth grade.

Museum Adventures Guidelines

  1. Please register for the session time that best fits your schedule (see below for registration information).
  2. Payment by purchase order/voucher, credit card, or check is due at check-in.
  3. Fee waivers are available based on economic need. Please indicate scholarship request on your registration form.
  4. Registration deadlines for each Museum Adventure are indicated below.
  5. Cancellation policy: cancellations must be made at least three weeks before the Museum Adventure program. There is a $25 processing fee for each class that cancels less than three weeks before the Museum Adventure.
  6. If the Buffalo Bill Historical Center cancels a Museum Adventure all fees will be refunded.

The fee for all Museum Adventures is $5 per student.

Buffalo Bill's Birthday Celebration
(Grades 3 – 5 only)

Deadline for registration was February 1, 2012.

Honor the namesake of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Through hands-on activities and live performances, students learn about the life of Buffalo Bill and the history of the American West.

Greater Yellowstone Adventure
(Grades 3 – 5 only)

Deadline for registration is April 1, 2012.

Celebrate Earth Day at the Draper Museum of Natural History and explore the natural history of the Greater Yellowstone region. Through interactive and hands-on demonstrations, activities, and programs, discover the plants, animals, and geology that make this region unique.

Young Explorers: I Spy Art
(Grades K – 2 only)

Deadline for registration will be in the fall of 2012.

Specifically designed for younger grades. Students will explore their inner artist through an art scavenger hunt, fun art projects, and learning how art influences our lives today.

State Standards: 4.4.1 (K – 2), 4.4.3 (K – 2), FA.4.1.3(2), FA.4.3.1(2)

Session I Thursday, November TBA 9 – 10:30 a.m.
Session II Thursday, November TBA Noon – 1:30 p.m.

  • Your visit is not confirmed until you receive a second e-mail within 1 week with a confirmation number.
