Harold McCracken
(1894-1983)
Dr. Harold McCracken was the founding Director
of the Whitney Gallery of Western Art and of the Buffalo Bill Historical
Center. To honor his lifelong search for knowledge and his devotion
to research and scholarship, the McCracken Research Library was dedicated
on August 15, 1980. New library facilities were rededicated and opened
to the public on June 24, 1994.
