William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody's birthday is February 26, and each year the Buffalo Bill Historical Center celebrates the event with a birthday party on the Friday evening closest to the day.
Here are some highlights from our 2012 celebration, which was sponsored by First Bank of Wyoming.
Our Buffalo Bill gallery is temporarily closed for renovation but visitors took tours of the construction area and envisioned the redesigned exhibit space, reopening to the public May 19.
Always a favorite at our birthday party, the Buffalo Bill Band, under the direction of Mike Masterson, entertained the crowds with rousing music straight from the songbook of Buffalo Bill's Cowboy Band.
The band performed from 5 – 6:30 p.m.
