"Cody is Rodeo!" Program

April 14 - September 15, 2003
Cody Firearms Museum Breezeway

The Buffalo Bill Historical Center, in conjunction with the Cody Stampede Board, presents a special program titled "Cody is Rodeo!" The program highlights the sport of rodeo and the life of a rodeo cowboy.

To celebrate its opening, the Buffalo Bill Historical Center held a public reception on Friday, May 30, 2003 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Throughout the summer, visitors to the program have the opportunity to experience actual rodeo equipment for themselves through the "hands on" approach to displays. "Cody is Rodeo" also features professional rodeo participants who explain rodeo events, gear and the athletic life of a competing cowboy and cowgirl.

Program organizer Paul Brock is excited about "Cody is Rodeo!" Explaining that it brings modern rodeo into perspective while simultaneously tying in to Cody's extensive rodeo history. In addition, Brock says, "This program gives visitors an interactive rodeo experience they can't find anywhere else."
