Quincy D. Newell is the Assistant Professor for the Religious Studies Program at the University of Wyoming. Her presentation explores how Jane James, who became a Mormon in the 1840s, made a home for herself in the LDS Church despite her exclusion from important Church rituals. This presentation is the first in a lecture series on religions in the American West.
