Each September, the Buffalo Bill Historical Center hosts the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale. This event draws people from all over the country to view some of the finest Western art, to meet and observe painters, potters and sculptors at work during a Quick Draw, and to experience the excitement of the show and art auctions.

The Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale is a fine art sale with a Western theme, offering works relating to the land, people and wildlife of the American West. Artists offer a broad range of stylistic interpretations of the West, in oil painting, watercolor, pastel, sculpture, ceramic and mixed media. All works are original art. A core of well-established local artists regularly participate in the Show & Sale and exhibit their work in regional and local galleries.

The Art Show & Sale benefits the Buffalo Bill Historical Center and is held in conjunction with the Historical Center's Patrons Ball -- all part of Cody's annual "Rendezvous Royale" arts celebration. The ever-increasing success of this project is made possible by the dedicated staff at the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce and the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, as well as a hard-working volunteer committee.

The Show & Sale brings collectors back year after year to renew acquaintances with the artists and other collectors. The unmistakable spirit of camaraderie is evident every year. Cody is a friendly city and draws visitors back not only because they love the art, but because they genuinely feel welcome.

Proceeds from the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale benefit the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce, the Cody Country Art League and the Park County Arts Council.
