Whitney Gallery of Western Art
DATABASE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT INTERN
Objective: Researches, updates and develops a data base for the Whitney Gallery of Western Art of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center that focuses on possible works by western American artist Frederic Remington.
Level of Responsibility:
Reports to: Whitney Gallery of Western Art Curatorial
Staff: John S. Bugas Curator of Whitney Gallery of Western Art and Curatorial Assistant.
Essential Functions: Skill Set
· Maintains a monthly report
· Conducts research for database
· Compiles documentation
Programs:
· Updates current catalogue raisonnĂ© Access database
· Develops a cross-reference database for accompanying digital images
· Develops and implements a finding guide for database
Qualifications:
· Enrollment in accredited college/university art or art history curriculum with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better (4.0 scale) in field of study
· Taken accredited courses in art history
· Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills
· Proficient computer skills, particularly Access, Microsoft Word, and scanning
· Graduate students preferred, but exceptional undergraduate candidates will be considered.
