Cost: $10 Members, $15 Non-members
As part of Archives Month, the BBHC offers a workshop focused on providing a general overview of basic black and white photographic processes, including daguerrotypes, tintypes, ambrotypes and glass plate, nitrate, and acetate negatives.
We discuss how to identify most types of negatives and some of the types of prints. Basic preservation and housing principles that help keep collection material stable are discussed as well. Many examples are provided from the McCracken Research Library’s photographic collections.
Participants are welcome to bring samples or questions from their personal collections if interested.
