The Buffalo Bill Historical Center is strongly committed to protecting the privacy of its online guests, customers, members, donors, and friends. We do not collect personal information about individuals-such as their names and postal and/or e-mail addresses-except when it is knowingly provided by such individuals. We believe that maintaining privacy on the Web is very important and that informing our visitors about the types of information we collect and how we use it is crucial.

When You Make a Purchase in Museum Selections

Museum Selections asks you to provide the information necessary to fulfill your order. This is the same information requested when you place an order by telephone or through the mail: name, billing and shipping address, telephone number, e-mail address (if you have one), and credit card number. For reasons of security, credit card information is not stored permanently on the Web server. We retain your order information for our records, but this information is never shared with third parties.

When You Make a Donation or Purchase a Membership

The Historical Center asks you to provide the information necessary to process and service your Membership: name, billing and shipping address, telephone/fax number, email address, and credit card information. We do not store full credit card numbers; only the last 4 digits are displayed in our database as evidence of payment method.

Information Collected Automatically

This Web site collects some anonymous information about you automatically when you request pages through your browser. This information is used to keep track of your shopping basket and to help us monitor how you and other visitors use the site, allowing us to provide an optimal shopping experience and better service throughout the site. The information collected automatically by the Web server does not, however, contain anything that can identify you personally (such as your e-mail address).

E-mail Policy

We read every e-mail message that we receive. If you e-mail the Historical Center via our contact pages, your message and e-mail address is automatically sent to the appropriate department within the Center.
