Winter in Yellowstone is a time of extraordinary hardship and extreme beauty. Blanketed in ice and snow, there is an eerie sense of calm; until a geyser erupts, or a trumpeter swan lands in a river warmed by a nearby thermal basin.
To travel through Yellowstone in winter is an unparalleled experience. Sitting with 12 other adventure-loving people in a warm snowcoach, we take in the picturesque landscapes, as well as the amusing stories of our guide, Jim Garry. We have only seen a handful of other people today. It feels like the park belongs to us.
Enjoy exploring Yellowstone in winter, as captured by Jack Bell and Dave Haas, talented photographers and tour participants, who were generous in sharing their winter visions of Yellowstone with you in this online album.
